Hong Kong Plastics Manufacturing Industry：Mission to Ningbo

Funded by the SME Development Fund of the Trade and Industry Department, HKSAR Government, the captioned mission was organised by the Hong Kong Plastics Manufacturers Association (HKPMA) on 6 to 7 June 2018, which was implemented by Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI). Eric Sun, Chairman of HKPMA, lead a delegation of industrial players to visit Beilun District, Hangzhou Bay New Zone, and Ninghai Economic Development Zone of Ningbo, China. The delegation also visited various enterprises, including Ningbo Shuangma Machinery Industry Co., Ltd, Haitian International Holdings Ltd, Beifa Group, Fotile Group, and Fangzheng Tool Co., Ltd.
The delegation had meeting with Ningbo Plastics Industry Association’s (NBPIA) representatives and members to exchange opinions regarding to industry development and to look for cooperation of Hong Kong’s and Ningbo’s plastics industry in the future. At Shuangma Machinery Industry, the delegation visited the factories and learned about the carbon fibers injection moulding technology makes the cooperate being the pioneer of the industry.
During the visit to Beifa Group, the company introduced their biodegradable plastics used in manufacturing in order to coming up with new manufacturing trend. Being the largest production base of injection moulding machine in China, visiting Haitian International’s automated manufacturing factory enables the delegation to learn more the current execution situation of Industry 4.0 of plastics industry in China. Fotile Group, the Chinese manufacturer of high-end embedded kitchen appliances, shared the corporate culture and management approach experience how it promotes emerging development of the company. At Fangzheng Tool, the delegation discovered mould design, manufacturing standards and experience, as well as a series of high-tech products such as door panels, fuel tanks, interior/exterior parts and others.
In addition, the delegation had meeting with government officials and Ningbo University leaderships to exchanging words in plastics industry prospect and strengthening the connection and cooperation of two sides in the future.
This mission is one of the deliverables under the funding project titled ‘Technology Advancement of Hong Kong Plastics Industry to Tap into the Opportunities under the Strategies of “Made in China 2025” and “Industry 4.0”’, applied by HKPMA and implemented by FHKI. More activities will be arranged during the project period to encourage the local plastics industry players to explore in the field of technological advancement.
